Final decisions - post here!

Simba:
He is a freshman there now. Ok, I am still lurking. I am getting lots of good information for little sis who has a few years to go. (Also confess to the cc addiction affliction.)

PS. Congrats to your son! Hopefully you'll stick around too.

My decision went to Amherst. Yewpee!

I wrote on here earlier collecting suggestions for my niece, who was looking for a college where she could do pre-med, be in a city, and also explore the African-American side of her family.

I don't know whether or not nieces should go on the list. But, to finish the story, she's going to Northwestern.

sac,

that's really great. congrautlations to your neice on her great aceptance. You must be so proud that she has found a school that suits all of her needs. definitely add her to the list

Sac: I remember, and am very happy to hear the end of the college quest story. Congrats to her!

Thanks! I'm thrilled for her. (And she did it without taking any of my advice!)

sac-My grandS went on the list (because of all the help I got here) so why not your niece? I think it's great to see what happened with any of the kids whose needs, etc. we've discussed.

Wow, these are all wonderful acceptances and exciting new beginnings. Where did I miss the news that Chinaman's son is going to Princeton? Wow, I did not know that but that is so great. I am not surprised. Last year, from all he shared, I could tell that boy was going places. Bravo. And of course Bravo to the other sons and daughters on this list!

You are all so lucky! I am envious. I just want this to be OVER! I am afraid we will be fed exing. DD is at Amherst overnight right now. (My choice for her now) but everything that could go wrong went wrong. Amherst flew her out, making all the arrangements. Flight delay - I called and let them know. The van left without her, they couldn't reach the driver, so she was stranded at the airport baggage claim area and had to sit in the terminal waiting on 2 adcoms to drive to Hartford to pick her up. Needless to say, we were on the phone every 15 minutes. (last call not 10 minutes ago) - they found her! I hope the rest of the visit goes well. And we also have to wait and see if U of Chicago will up the financial aid after our appeal - another 7-10 days, and we know it will be longer with snail mail. Where is the nearest fed ex 24 hour location???????????????????

Wow, EvitaJr....I had no idea your D was doing all this. And so sorry for the angst in her travels....thankfully it has now worked out and I am sorry you went through the worries. Hang in there. At least the dilemmas involved are about happy things and apparently amazing acceptances! Let us know how it goes!
Susan

EvitaJr I was a FedExer too lol - congratulations to everyone, what an exciting and interesting list! Soozievt, I wondered what the final choice would be for your D - and wow, Chinaman's son is going to Princeton (I love reading Chinaman's posts!!!) - plus, a few people are going to D's school! This is so much fun to read!

Berurah, when will your son choose? I am so curious lol.

I think it would be fun to have a sort of directory thread listing posters by colleges - for example, "Princeton" with Simba, Chinaman, 1Sokkermom, everyone who has a student under the header of each school. It would be a very interesting reference point, especially for newcomers. Would also be interesting to know the total population of the board who has a student at Princeton, etc.

yes berurah.....which way is it going?....give us play by play action.

After a long week of very thoughtful consideration, among 7 fantastic colleges, my son has finally arrived at his decision.

mootmom's S: MIT

Mootmom:

Whoo hoo. Congrats!

mootmom congratulations....from bay area to north pole....(marite, I know you will say something. Let me tell you my definition of north pole - anything less than 75 F is north pole weather)

Simba:

The forsythia are in bloom and soon we will have lilac. Winter is gone and summer is iccumen....

I know, I know all those things make perfect post card pictures, but is it 75 F yet?

The three seasons in Houston are called June, July and August.
