Final Grades

Hi, I’m a sophomore at NYU, and I just had a question. How long can a professor put off posting final grades? The NYU website states that all grades are due 72 hours after the final exam (which was the 21st), but I still haven’t received my final grade. My other three classes’ results are out on my school’s portal.

I tried emailing my professor - no response. I emailed my TA, and she simply responded in a vague sort of way to “email her by next Monday” and that she’d be happy to “go over them” - but I have no grades to go over! Does this mean the grade will be released Monday? There’s a reason I’m being a bit urgent (parents are antsy to see my grades this semester and think I’m lying that my fourth class’ grade isn’t out).

I have no idea when NYU’s grades are due but I would stop emailing the professor and TA about it.

I don’t know when grades are due for NYU but I’d suggest you stop emailing the TA and professor. They will be posted eventually.
You can let your parents look at the system to see the grade wasn’t posted yet.

If it is a large class then sometimes the grades just don’t arrive as quickly as they are due. One daughter (different university) only got her last grade today – it was due at least a week ago, and the exam was several days earlier than the 21st.

I think that you just need to wait. I wouldn’t email your professor since the issue is probably that he/she is already very busy.

Grades due doesn’t necessarily translated to when the grades are posted.

Exactly. Last year one of my exact final grade (I got B+ on the due date but we never figured out how it was calculated) was posted THREE MONTHS later.
