<p>So out of approximately 55,000 students who apply for this scholarship, how many are selected as finalists?</p>
<p>Just 1000 are selected!</p>
<p>Last year, about 54,000 either started or submitted their application. Around 20-something thousand actually submitted their application. Only 2,000 are selected as “finalists” and after transcripts are sent along with some forms, 1,000 “scholars” are selected.</p>
<p>(Note: Finalist round is not the actual selection of scholars. The number of finalists is actually cut in half!)</p>
<p>@diffuse. What other forms are sent after making finalist?–thanks. I think I have read in year’s-past-posts that there were 5 documents?</p>
