S received his acceptance today.

Good luck to all waiting to hear.

I’m confused by this. I thought Clemson’s acceptance letters went out in February? Have they changed something?? If they have it will change the way my son goes to the mailbox everyday :-)

nothing has changed, if you are receiving one of Clemson’s top scholarships you will probably hear back in the near future. Otherwise, all other applicants will hear from Clemson around mid-February. That’s how they always send out acceptance letters

There was a scholarship listed in the acceptance. I also think he may have had a special invitation to apply but not sure about that.

My dd also was accepted yesterday with a merit scholarship - not special invitation to apply.

My DS got his acceptance with Merit scholarship today. We are out of state perhaps they let out of state know earlier?

special invitation to apply…to the honors college?

If I may ask, what types of grades/test scores do these kids have that are getting notices already? Thanks.

blktmt - My DS has a 34 ACT and a Unweighted 0f 3.9.(7 AP classes).

The special invitation was if he would apply to Clemson they would wave the application fee. And he was told in the invitation that if he applied it came with an automatic scholarship. Not sure exactly when he received it but I know he finished the app before finishing his ED app.

As for stats - 4.0 unweighted, IB candidate, 34 ACT, top 1% of his class

I don’t think this matters much but he has a very specific extracurricular

He has no “hooks” as far as sports, race, etc.

Just out of curiosity-
My stats are top 3% of class, 29 ACT, 3.85 unweighted GPA, 4.8 weighted, I live in SC and I’ll have 8 AP’s going into college, a few extracurriculares and I applied as an engineering major on September 10th.
Is there no chance I’ll hear early because I’m below the 30 ACT line? Just curious if anyone out there knows.

Congratulations to all!!
My D applied late November (OOS): 4.0 weighted, all APS and honors; 29 ACT; great essay, extra curricucs, decorated athlete.
Was your acceptance via snail mail or online?

My son’s was via snail mail. Not sure if he has even checked his Clemson account online. Actually, not sure they even have that. I believe my son applied by November 1st.

Just noticed from another thread that MichiganGeorgia’s child was accepted to Computer Science. My son was also CS. Not sure this has anything to do with early acceptance notification just adding it to the speculation pot.

I’m not sure where the Computer Science came from he’s looking at either Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or BioEngineering. Not sure which one what he put down on the app. Are you referring to the University of Alabama’s Computer Based Honors that he applied for? The name of that is kind of confusing it’s a research based Honors that uses your major and computers.

All acceptance letters typically comes by snail mail - no idea why Clemson hasn’t really put into place an online system to track your application

bltkmt,

Clemson’s twitter stated a day or two ago that generally the students with above 1300 CR+M SAT and top 10% of class were receiving acceptances at this time. I see from the SAT/ACT concordance table that a 29 ACT is equivalent to a 1300 SAT.

In my son’s class, it definitely seemed like the kids who had received provisional acceptance letters back in the fall are the ones now getting admit letters.

Posted this in one other thread, but for those who have recieved letters, can you share when you applied please?

Applied in early August

Thanks for this. DS had a 32 on ACT, but not in top 10% of class.
