1/16 is legally whatever race.
i'm not fluffing up my application, because having native american blood is not an accomplishment. i want to include everything about me that they feel is relevent (ethnicity being one of them).

what do you mean, how do i have native american blood?

blairt, the main question is: Do you consider yourself to be bi-racial? On your chances thread you wrote that you were white. Is that what you consider yourself? If not, you should include that you are Native American. If not, don't. It is a personal decision.

Prettyckitty is right, it really depends on what you honestly think of yourself as. It shouldn't just be something ment to thicken your application or make you more favored by admissions.

hey blairt i go to boarding school on the east coast (11th grade) and im also from the LA area. with good grades in all of those classes i'm pretty sure you could have gotten into andover in 10th grade. i dont' know how tough the 11th grade admissions process is, but your ECs look good, especially the equestrian...i think someone previously said your math was behind but i disagree. i've always been on an accelerated track and though i tested into precalc at 9th grade, i waited and i'm taking calc right now...also, i don't think the native americn thing makes a difference. that might help to identify yourself as "underrepped minority" in college admissions but his is just high school.

and definitely send some of your work in...i sent in photography (not really a portfolio just from a summer thing), piano vids, writing etc. and i think it helped. i also did the entire app the day before deadline because i wasn't really looking into boarding schools at first :) okay i'll stop rambling...
