Finally, my chances thread.

Public High School, 510-ish students in class
Oregon
Class of 2008
Male
White

SAT: 760 CR, 760 M, 640 W, 2160 combined
SAT IIs: Not Yet Taken
ACT w/writing: 34
National Merit Semifinalist

(as a side question, I'm probably only going to submit my ACT score, is that a good plan?)

GPA: 3.93 UW, 4.11 W
Class Rank: Top 3.5%. Rank at our school is obnoxious... taking an extra class outside school like Model UN or Electric Band will bring your weighted GPA down even if you get an A. I am ranked 18/509, for now.

IB classes taken:

IB Chemistry
IB Spanish
IB English
IB History of Americas

IB classes currently enrolled:

IB Theory of Knowledge
IB Calculus
IB English II
IB 20th Century
IB Economics

EC:

Marching Band 9-12

Electric Band (i.e. Pep Band) 10-12
Private Music Lessons 10-12
Jazz Band 11-12
Concert Band 9th, Wind Ensemble 10-12

Destination Imagination 4-12, State Champions 2005, 2006, 2007

Leadership Positions:

Head Drum Major, Marching Band
Head Drum Major, Drum and Bugle Corps
Co-Founder/Captain, Ultimate Frisbee Team

Colleges:

University of Washington
USC
UC Berkeley
University of Virginia
MIT-Sloan
Stanford (lol)
Princeton (lol)
Yale (LOL)
UPenn-Wharton (LOL)

I'm not a CHYMPS fanatic, I have different interests at each school on the list and will probably end up going to USC regardless (I can get in, right?). Advice please.

You have an okay shot at Berkeley OOS, though it's tough. Your SAT score is weak (because of the writing score), but the ACT is good. The W GPA is slightly weak. ECs are average.

The UC's will accept the ACT w/writing in lieu of the SAT.

EDIT: I guess I can't edit original threads so here's information on time commitment.

Marching Band: 250+ hrs/year
Winter Percussion: 300+ hrs/year
Drum and Bugle Corps: 500+ hours of rehearsal a year. Total weekend commitment 7 weekends December-June, and 24 hr/day commitment for 42 days in summer.

I... don't feel bad bumping this.

blaaah.....

At least one more bump.

Come on, people.

-_-.......
