I was recently admitted to UNC as a transfer student. Unfortunately, the transfer process has been all but smooth. First of all, at the moment there are about 30 credits that did not transfer to UNC. I have put in a request to have them reevaluate my credits; however, even with all my credits (60), I will have to take at least five semesters, or a lot of summer courses. One of the other issues is that I have internally apply and transfer to the business program, which has a 50% acceptance rate. It’s quite unnerving to lay all my eggs in one basket. What if I don’t get accepted as an internal transfer. I do prefer UNC over USC when it comes to location and college feel.
I have not been accepted to USC, but I am pretty confident. My main issue with USC is that it doesn’t seem too popular with IB’s on the east coast. I think only less than 10% of graduates went to the east coast. The clear upside is that most of my credits will transfer, because my college has an articulation agreement with them. Additionally, I will be admitted directly to the business school and won’t have to worry about an internal transfer.
I’d really appreciate any opinions I can get on this matter.
