I am a high school senior applying to colleges this fall and I am interested in a double major in television/film and either: [economics or finance].

I really like film/television production, but I'm not very sure about the financial stability of such a degree so I also like business/economics stuff as well though.

I am interested in the economics/television degrees at Northwestern, the finance/television degree at Texas, and the economics major at Harvard (Harvard has the Harvard Lampoon publication for my interest in communications.)

What are some of the differences between finance/business and economics? And what are your thoughts on these schools?

You should probably also look at NYU and USC, both of which have film and business schools. USC also has the Annenberg school for communications.

And of course NYU and USC both have the best locations in the country for the TV biz.

Penn meanwhile has the best finance program, one of the best economics programs, the other Annenberg School for Communications, and student communications that consisently win national acclaim (namely, the Daily Pennsylvanian and 34th Street).

Northwestern and Harvard are good too. But Northwestern is meh and Harvard is a crapshoot for everyone.

What do you mean by "Northwestern is meh"? Is it's economics or tv/film program not as good or something?

I've heard it's supposed to be good in both areas; which were you referring to?
