Finance VS quantitative finance

Hi all, just wanted to know what the difference between the two are, and as i've heard that employers would prefer someone with a "quantitative" background, what kind of difference would it make between these two fields of finance? Will the latter result in more job opportunities?
In addition, how does a double major in math and finance compare with a quantitative finance major?

I would love to work in the US upon graduation, even though i'm a non US citizen. What would the chances be of obtaining employment even if i do not graduate with a STEM degree? Is the difference that significant?

Bump…

If you are not a citizen you will need a company that sponsors you for a visa.

Quant Finance is similar to having a Finance + Math major. More important than picking a major, having a strong GPA and getting a solid internship will help you get a job after graduating . If you keep a 3.6+ and are to date with on campus recruitment, you should have access to all the same opportunities whether you major in Finance, Math or Quant. Your school should have a list of jobs and industry where each major ends up.
