I was wondering if requesting for financial aid will decrease my chances of acceptances into boarding schools such as Exeter, Choate, Milton ... Etcetera. If so, how much will it affect my chances? I am a Korean citizen, currently living in Canada.

<p>It should, but I’ll help anyway. It’ll slightly decrease your chances to get in, but if you’re a good enough applicant, you’ll get in.</p>
<p>Well, since you’re an international student, it unfortunately might hurt your chances considerably. Very few international students are admitted with FA. Andover is the only need-blind school that will accept you without regard for financial status.</p>
<p>For international students, requesting FA makes it very difficult to get in. The only international student I’ve ever heard of who got FA was the user TomTheCat. If I were you, I’d apply to a wide range of schools (I’d say 8-12), and work really hard on your applications. Good luck.</p>
