Financial Aid and Fraternities and Canceling your housing contract

So I want to move into my fraternity next semester. Does my financial aid cover living in a fraternity (Its significantly cheaper than the dorms)?

Also, is there a deadline to cancel my housing contract? I know about the fee, but that doesnt matter to me.

$300 fee. Your housing financial aid will be labeled off campus instead of on campus.

Is there a deadline to turn this form in?

Also, how exactly do things like calgrant work then? Because right now, I pay for my housing through the University. But in a frat, they really don't know what I pay. Would they just cut me a check for my calgrant? Right now, it just gets applied to my cars.

From my understanding, they just use a set limit specified for off-campus housing; same thing they do right now for your on-campus housing.

Do people on financial aid all get the same housing dollar amount whether they are living in a suite at Clarke Kerr or in a triple in the Units?

Financial aid is based on living on campus- same budget whether you are in a triple or a single- living off campus-about $3k less a year, that reduction will not come from your Cal Grant, Cal & Pell grants are a certain amount, your university grants & your loans will likely go down.

So since our housing isnt through the University, for our grants, do they send us a check in the mail?
