Have any of you guys heard back from Binghamton about financial aid and/or honors opportunities? I haven't gotten anything about aid or scholarships, nor have I heard about being accepted into any honors/scholars programs. I was kinda hoping to get accepted into the PWC Scholars and to receive some scholarships.

I applied and got accepted EA, so maybe that's why they haven't let me know yet?

I called yesterday and the lady told me that financial aid letters will be sent out late March to early April.

I was wondering about the same thing. Thanks for the information.

S got invitation to Binghamton Scholars today, but no word on financial aid/scholarship $$.

Was the invitation by snail mail?

Yes, two pages in letter sized envelope.

I got that invitation to the scholars program too. It came in today.

I called today, and was told they were sent out on Monday, so arriving today makes sense. My mail truck is one street away, so I should hear in a few minutes. Financial Aid is still late March into early April, and they are still finishing them up.

edit: Nothing for me. Too bad, I thought I would've gotten in. I got excited because I got the postcard for the admitted students day, but that was it.

No postcard or letter so far.

SLL, did you get the postcard today?

Erm, okay, never mind. I just checked my email and apparently they, uh, sent emails today. Um. Yeah.

yup, S rec'd email late this afternoon, inviting him to scholar's dinner, after he got the letter in the mail.

I got the email today! Nothing in the mail yet, though.

According to the website, only 120 people are invited. Were all of your stats phenomenal? I got the postcard about the accepted students thing, but that was it.

OK, so I was accepted into the Scholars program! They sent the notification to an e-mail address I did not know they had. Still nothing in the mail though.

DD also received an E-mail (strangely, they sent it to different E-mail address, not the one she used in application). And no letter. Weird.

Does anybody know if being selected for the scholars program possibly means money? It's all rather vague...

I found this which says that "Binghamton Scholars receive merit scholarships of various amounts for each year of study, with additional opportunities to receive travel subsidies and research grants," but...does that entail some but not all, or what?

Great question, I've been wondering the same thing.

I think it's $500 freshman year and $1,000 junior year.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

...Wow. Talk about stingy...at that price, I'd rather take out loans for a better school.
