I am applying ED to Cornell. Their deadline to submit the CSS for FA is Nov 1. Does this mean that, If I am admitted, I will not be eligible to apply for FA afterwards?

What it means is that if you don’t submit the CSS PROFILE with 2013 estimated figures, you won’t get an estimated package from Cornell if you are accepted. Which could mean that you have to accept the ED and withdraw your other applications without knowing what kind of financial aid you could expect from Cornell. If you turn in the CSS PROFILE by 11/1, and you are accepted ED, you will get an estimated package and if the numbers make it unaffordable for you to go to Cornell, you can discuss the situation with them, see if there is any resolution and withdraw from ED if there is not, and keep your applications at your other schools.

Whether you will be eligible to apply for FA afterwards depends on Cornell’s policies and you should ask the Admissions Director there not ask other. My guess is that you could, but you may be running up on ED commitment deadlines because Cornell has given you their stipulation as to what you have to do to get those numbers in time, and if you don’t meet them, that’s on you. I can go into all sorts of possibilities here, but only those involved in the process at Cornell can tell you for sure. what the consequences are of missing the deadline.

If you want an estimated financial aid offer along with an ED acceptance, you MUST complete that Profile by the November deadline.

Some schools will not allow ED accepts students to,then turn around and apply for aid later. If you are indicating that your will NOT apply for aid on your ED application, the school will rightfully think you aware a full pay student.

Remember, that part of the ED contract is the ability to not accept your binding decision, if the financial aid does not work out. as others have stated, if you are don’t submit applications for aid, it will be assumed that you will not need aid. On december 15, by your own hand Cornell would have every right to tell you accept your package without aid (because you did not apply) or withdraw because you cannot afford to be full pay.

If you think this is going to be hard for you to get your information in on time, perhaps you should consider applying RD
