I was recently accepted to a few CSUs and some UCs and I am a bit confused on the financial at them. I always thought and was told that CSUs were cheaper, and though I got into UCs was planning on attending San Diego State due to this fact. My financial aid just came in for UCSD, though, and it was about $2,000 cheaper net cost than SDSU even though it is a UC. I think this has to do mostly with the fact that at SDSU I was awarded Cal Grant B while at UCSD I was awarded Cal Grant A. Would this make it so that after my first year, SDSU would indeed be significantly cheaper, or do you think that UCSD will remain cheaper in the long run? Thanks!
@dstyja - Cal Grants can change year-to-year depending upon your family’s income.
Does that $2000 cover the Health Insurance requirement?
