Financial Aid Awards.

Hey CC,
I just checked "My TritonLink" and the new Financial Aid Awards are out. i just wanted to let everyone know and get a feel of the general amount everyone else has received.
I am going to receive:
ACAD COMP GRANT (GL-1): 750.00
CAL GRANT B STIPEND: 1,551.00
UCSD OPPORTUNITY GRANT: 7,547.00
FEDERAL PELL GRANT: 5,550.00
FED. SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT: 4,000.00

This is all the free money they provided me. There is, in addition to this, the sub/unsub loans and work study.
My total estimated cost is: 27,998.00.

i didn’t get my award yet

lol yeah they come out at different times for people

i still havent gotten my summer aid in my acct yet and its driving me crazy!

I want to convert my work-study award into a loan but I’m not sure what type of loan it would be in that case. Would it be a loan I’ll have to repay once I’m done with school or a loan my parents would have to pay? If anybody knows this please tell me. =)

wait so other than your free money, which are loans etc, did you select it to accept the loan program/ work study?

I haven’t accepted or declined anything yet, not until I look into the real costs of attending. I know for a fact that the estimates they use are higher than what I would really need. Take a look for yourself:

If you have a car on-campus and actually purchase books, it’s pretty accurate for barebone costs. Personal allowance/spending money is where most of the variance lies.
