hi! I am applying to NYU for CAS or LSP in 2020 regular decision.
Just wondering from past accepted students how accurate the financial aid calculator was to your actual grant/scholarship amount.

That depends. Mine was abysmal but reasonably accurate. I just checked and my estimated total cost of attendance was $63,500 while my estimated grant aid was $36,000, leaving a $27,500 gap for a student in a family of five living off of a teacher’s salary.
As an accepted ED1 student, my total cost will actually exceed $75,000. I received a full tuition scholarship to Tisch ($55,000) but still have to pay for room and board and other living expenses, which will still be $20,000 extra. Other than my Tisch scholarship, I was given no financial aid-- only loans. I’ll be able to make it work thanks to outside scholarships, but that’s only after a lot of work. Still, my scholarship is based on artistic talent, not merit or need, so I’m not sure how the calculator holds up for students such as yourself.
