Many of us have worked hard throughout our high school careers to obtain admission into stellar colleges. If you, like the majority of candidates, were shocked when you did not obtain an email for the scholarship, then I ask you to call the financial aid office and to politely explain that you are an admitted honors student who did not receive the scholarships that you were looking for. Explain that OSU is one of your top choices, but that you do not think it would be feasible for you to attend unless you received some aid.

The more people that do this, the more likely that they will give us the scholarship we deserve. 2020 people did not receive the letter; thus, 2020 people should call in to fight for their rights. If you know someone who is not a member of CC but was also rejected from HOSA, or if you were admitted to the Honors Program by the HOSA deadline, then I ask you to please participate in this call-in.

Unfortunately, based on reduced state funding, there isn’t any $$$ for more scholarships. I think you’ll find that osu will politely tell you to look at other options.

You aren’t entitled to any scholarship money. I wish I got an email too, but I’m not gonna call and whine about not getting more scholarship money. If you can’t afford it, go somewhere else. If your stats are really that stellar, you can get money from a different school. You’re not going to scare a school like OSU into giving you more scholarship money.

I wish that more people could have recieved scholarships, but you can’t just demand a scholarship. You have to trust that OSU picked the most deserving people.

You didn’t receive the scholarship because there were people most qualified to receive it. Don’t act like just because you “worked hard” in high school, you are entitled to money. Plenty of people work hard for their grades… in fact, it isn’t so special. Our society is full of people who slack off and do the wrong thing, making people that put in a little effort look like they are doing something outstanding. I wish people would realize that doing well in school only helps their future and isn’t affecting anyone else’s. It is delusional to think that having people call the school demanding money will help your cause at all; it doesn’t grow on trees you know. It only makes you look immature demanding money that you think you “deserve.”

Does anybody know how these are awarded? I applied this year but just switched majors today (from anthro to animal science). My essay focused on animal science but I’m worried I won’t get a scholarship since I just changed to the major.

Is there a process, like interviewing, for special scholarships? Or, do they just show up in your financial aid summary?

I guess that’s why Americans have a problem with feeling entitled all the time. I am entitled to hear from OSU like right now as to if I got in though. ;)

Tough luck. That’s just life man, if you don’t get things your way, then that’s that. Life isn’t fair, simply put. Some kids got into OSU with lower credentials than me yet I’m still waiting with crossed fingers and lots of prayers to get into OSU.

BTW, I know this is for rejects, so please do not extend a condescending response. Hope you got some kind of scholarship though. I probably won’t get any. :(
