Does anyone know the maximum amount of financial aid one is able to receive? I know we find out very soon, but I'm nervous it won't be enough.

I would love to know! the financial aid is going to determine whether or not I can attend next year

same! I’m praying to God it’s enough. LMU is my #1

Depends on your EFC. But I would imagine it could be quite high depending on your situation. Private school’s do give a lot of aid in general if your EFC is low.

If you mean need based aid, I don’t believe LMU guarantees to meet need, and I think their need based aid includes loans. You can check out USNews rankings for percent of need met. If you mean merit based, I believe there are a few full scholarships, and some half scholarships, as well as things like the Arupe, which varies, but might be about $12k/year.

I’m talking need based, all merit based have already been given out. I’m vary ware of all the scholarships available because I’ve been frantically searching for more money. My EFC will not be much at all. I just need to get the cost down to like $10,000 after all aid.

Okay, sorry. I am not sure I understand. I guess “next year” refers to next SCHOOL year, and you have already applied. And when you say your “EFC will not be very much”, you mean you already know your EFC, and it’s a small number. I think i get it. And loans will be okay, or do you mean $10,000 INCLUDING loans?

Here’s what US News says

Graduating students who have borrowed %60
Students who applied for need based aid %73
Students whose need was fully met %30
Students who received need based financial aid %58
Students who received need based scholarship or grant aid %53.3
Students who received self help aid %53.1
Average percent of need met %76

Just to clarify, merit aid has NOT been given to all RD candidates:

“Meanwhile, the Financial Aid office is working on getting the need based (FAFSA based) financial aid awards ready to be sent March 30, and the Scholarship Committee is working on identifying the Regular Decision students who will receive merit based awards (Early Action merit awards were sent to most qualifying students in late December). These Regular Decision merit based awards will also be sent April 1, in conjunction with the need based awards for students who are eligible for both, and by themselves for students who qualify for merit aid but do not apply for need based aid.”
