<p>Does anyone know when our financial aid disbursements for this quarter are mailed/deposited to us?</p>

<p>It should be right around January 4th, I need that money for rent also, I wish they would give it earlier</p>

<p>I had a conversation with a financial aid counselor about that issue of rent. Rent is due before financial aid is disbursed. My argument was that rent is included in what “Financial Aid” covers, so why can we not receive the financial aid in time for when rent is due? The response was that the State of California (or the Federal Government, cannot remember) does not allow schools to give the money out before the first day of the quarter.</p>
<p>I had this problem in September (as many apartments want rent up-front and I moved in before the quarter began) and I’ve tried asking the counselor if there is any way around this… “Nope”. Though there should be.</p>
