Financial aid disqualification.

After a mere single fall semester at my local community college I was notified that I was disqualified from financial aid for the summer term. I did not go through the full paper work required for Fall and thus I didn't even receive aid for that term. So this time around I had everything ready to send in and after going through the entire process I was told of my disqualification. I took 3 classes during the Fall, two of which I had to drop because I simply did not have a form of transportation to get to school, keeping only the online class which I got a B in. My question is if I finished the two classes that have already been paid for in the summer would I be able to have my financial aid reinstated as this time around I actually have a car to get to school. I have browsed through the multitude of financial aid issues in this forum but I needed a more specific answer so excuse yet another one of these threads.

Edit: Heh, I just found out that I will have to move after the summer semester is over just as I was finishing up this post. So now my question extends to if I were to finish the 2 classes during the summer then transfer to another community college closer to my new residence would the disqualification carry over or can I re-apply at the new school?

You need to contact the college. It sounds like you did not meet their Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) criteria because you only completed 1 of the three classes for, which you registered. Every college has its own SAP procedures for appeals, etc. contact your college to see what you need to do.

Since you did not attend class, did you withdraw from your fall qtr classes during the allowed period for withdrawal that DID NOT require an instructor override?

Or did you withdraw so late that you have an incomplete/F, for the term?
Usually they give you a warning first,

What did you do winter/spring qtrs?

The disqualification WILL carry over to additional schools since it is federal money- ie Stafford Loans &/ or Pell grants.

I dropped one class one week in due to transportation issues and the other class I dropped before deadline and received a W for it.

I did not attend spring/winter.

Then it does not sound like you should be on suspension/probation.
Do you have an advisor- perhaps a dean pf students you could appeal to?

Although- some schools may have different criteria for summer aid, if they have any at all.

I forgot to add that BOG C covered my enrollment fees and such if that has something to do with it.

It sounds like OP did not meet the progression standard for the year … did not complete the required % of classes that were started. It doesn’t matter whether or not you received aid during that term. You can try to appeal - you won’t get aid if you don’t, but you might if you do.
