I was looking in the admissions portal today and realized that there was apparently a due date for financial aid information in November? Does anyone know if this impacts admissions, or if this can be done later? It is not the end of the world if I don’t get financial aid for one year, but it obviously is not at all ideal. I guess I’m just asking what the deal is with those forms.
Considering Duke is need blind (for US citizens) , it shouldn’t impact admissions decisions. I would imagine the only impact would be a delay in receiving your financial aid package. I highly doubt it would change/impact your year one fin aid offering, but it the award may not be communicated to you as timely as it would have been otherwise. If you’re unsure, give the financial aid office a call. They’re very friendly.
You will probably have to wait longer, though CSS has had a ton of backlog and half of my documents aren’t even processed yet, and the other half went through about five days after the deadline. I emailed CSS and they said Duke would still know when I had submitted it so it shouldn’t be a problem, but if they aren’t receiving a lot of applicant’s financial info yet, then you really shouldn’t be too far behind.
