Hey guys, quick question here. Duke requires that all Early Decision applicants turn in both their CSS profile and their 2008 Tax Returns/W-2 forms by November 15. I submitted the CSS profile on time, but due to bad wording on Duke's fin. aid site, I thought that by doing that I was "submitting" my tax forms as well.

Two weeks later, a friend of mine at Duke told me I actually needed to mail copies of my family's tax forms to the office. I freaked out and immediately did that but now they're two weeks late. The fin. aid office told me that while it won't affect how much fin. aid they give me, they can't guarantee that I'll have an estimate by the time my decision is due, assuming I get in.

This is really bad, because without at least $35-$40k of fin. aid from Duke, I can't really consider going there; my parents make in the $65-70k range, combined. Does anybody have any idea how common it actually is to not receive your fin. aid estimate in time for your decision, at least at Duke, if you don't get everything in on time?
