Hello CollegeConfidential Community,
I am a high school junior writing from India. I will be travelling to the US in the summer and was wanting to utilize it in the best possible way. Would you guys be so kind to guide me in the right direction as to which summer programs offer financial aid to international students? REALLY IMPORTANT! … Also, I don’t really care about getting into prestigious colleges but rather want to expose myself to the culture/ meet people but I’d be needing a little financial assistance.
Thank you so much for the help in advance!
Answer: There is little to no summer programs that will give FA for summer programs for INTERNATIONAL students
I know … I swear it is so unfortunate but then there are colleges like Middlebury who offer… so I was wondering if people knew about more But thanks a ton Paul.
Are you talking about exchange programs???
Nope… summer programs specifically. I just want to make my summer as productive as possible @paul2752
Check out colleges in the Boston area, some of them have financial aid for the summer high school programs (but mostly for programs that are highly selective and that financial aid is means-tested, so that, if you can afford to go to the US for the summer, you probably don’t qualify). However, there’s no financial aid at all for summer sessions at public universities. Your best bet is to try and see if you can take an intensive class at a directional university or a community college? I know what some have 3-week (14 hours/week in one subject) and 6-week programs.
Where will you be in the US?
