If you get for example get admitted at williams. Do they also give finacial aid for living, such food and place to stay?? Or do they only give finaid for tuition?

The financial aid is for the total cost of attending that school, ie it includes food, living etc.

do any of u have any idea of the extents of aid for int. applicants at Lehigh ??

BU and USC dont offer need based financial aid but merit based instead.

dont u think we started this thread a little TOO LATE :@
i wanna middlebury wuaaaaaaaaaaaa

No I am planning to apply for class'10
So if Finaid covers ie food and living,
does that mean if a school is 100% need-based, my parents made about 20000 $ per year,we arent rich, my finaid will be atleast 90% of the total cost??

if your parents make 20,000 per year, you will get no loan, all grant scholarship in Williams. They will pay for your room, food, book, travel fee (very generous), tuition, small stipend, etc. Williams has no hidden cost, and everything will be accounted for. however, you are still expected to take on campus job, which isn't stressful at all.

Im applying to pton, i duno if i should for fin. aid. I dont need it, but i can prove on paper that i need it. After all, Pton needs to get SOME revenue from students...do u think I should apply for fin. aid there?

Is it possible to get a 'full tuition waiver' (i.e. MERIT - full scholarship) and also work for a stipend ? (which will help in lowering the living costs)

call the cops - i think u should. pton as such have 'need blind policy' so hopefully it shouldnt impact their admission decision at all.

akshay - i believe tht it is possible. also in many public uni. if u get a job, u qualify for instate tuition (in place of out of state tuition) and save a load.
on a side note - u from bbay?? so am i? which coll?

Could anyone provide a link that lists ALL THE COLLS that provide 'MERIT' MONEY AND SCHOLARSHIPS for INT'Ls (not 'FIN AID') ? Edupass lists 'FIN AID' giving colls

Thanks

I think we should make a list with colleges that are need-based ;)

i heard a rumor that all ivys were need blind?? is this complete bull*****??

Only Harvard, Princeton, and Yale are need blind out of all 8 ivies...other ones offer a limited amount of financial aid to international students.

NOTE FOR CANUCKS: i think for canadians, upenn is need-blindish???? correct me if i'm wrong, because i received a mail from them saying "you applied for aid...this might decrease your chances of getting in." I then called them and said I was Canadian...and they told me to disregard that letter. soo....??

no...i mean are all the ivys need-blind for CANADIANS?? not internationals in general

au the contraire, upenn is very stingy let alone need-blind.

Friends I have received several mails from the admission office regarding missing documents etc but so far I had not received any mail from Finaid office, whether my papers all ready, is there anything missing etc. Does the finaid office starts work after admission committee finishes their jobs? Anybody has heard from them already?

Motso,
Many (most) have websites where you can check online about your Financial Aid documents as well. Besides that I have received emails from JHU about my missing financial aid documents.

hahahah....every thread is eventually taken over by us indians!!!
