Is it possible for international students to receive financial aid this year?

Yes, assuming you filled out the financial aid application in time.

Just to confirm that there will be financial aid for international students this year. We’re in the process of packaging now and decisions will be out as soon as we can make it happen. (Probably 2-3 weeks from now).

UR Admissions… I think I’ve been accepted to UR… However, the e-mail said that FinAid and Schol might not be given because of limited funds, so they want a financial certification. If I submit the FC will I even get a partial amout of AID?

Hmm. Is financial aid available for international students who did not apply in time for Richmond Scholars?

Same here. Some told me that I have to pay full…

Some aid will be available to those international students who didn’t apply on time for Richmond Scholars, but it is limited, unfortunately. We’re working on getting those offers out now and it will take us another 2 weeks, probably, to get to everyone. Unfortunately, there will be lots who do not receive aid, as our resources just don’t go far enough to help every qualified international student.

I just received a strange email by University of Richmond. I have no idea if it’s a generic email or not, but it kind of confuses me. It’s about my being international and University of Richmond’s limited funds available for internationals. Because of this I’m asked to submit a financial certification prior to May 1 if I have the funds needed. If I was to submit this certification in time University of Richmond would extend an offer of admission if space is still available.
Now I’m wondering, if this means anything, other than limited funds for internationals? Did others receive the same email?

It is not a generic e-mail, although many international students will receive it. It means that you are not going to be receiving aid from the University, but if you are fortunate enough to be able to find other sources of financial assistance to afford Richmond, let us know by May 1, and we will be happy to have you as a student at the University.

Thanks UR Admissions
