International Waitlisted- Find funding yourself

So, as the title suggests.
UR said:
"Your application for admission to the University of Richmond has been carefully reviewed. This year, Richmond received almost 10,000 applications from many accomplished students like you. We were most impressed with your remarkable achievements, but because we are need-aware for non-U.S. citizens, we will be unable to offer you admission and financial aid on April 1.

If you are able to locate appropriate financial aid resources for the four years of university study prior to May 1, please submit the International Financial Certification in the minimum amount of $65,470 to intladm@richmond.edu. Please click here for the Financial Certification form. Upon receipt of the International Financial Certification, the university may consider extending an offer of admission through our wait list if space is still available after May 1."

My parents EFC was $7k, now ready to bump it upto $14k. no chance of finding $65k Funding.

Now, in past experiences.
What is my best shot if I fail to find funding?
Should I send the renewed certification with $14k and also a letter of interest pleading for the difference to be covered up by Richmond,or is that all no good and I should consider myself rejected.

@altoLime

What UofR is saying is they’ve already accounted for their international aid budget. UofR is known to do this because it meets full need of accepted students, but can’t guarantee funding for international students. In order to not contradict themselves, they’ll “waitlist” internationals that they would love to have, but for which they cant fund.
Sending in the form without actually being able to afford the school will not help. If you want to send a letter of interest, by all means do, but don’t expect a different answer.

@guineagirl96‌
that explains stuff.
what I can do is send a letter and hope that some accepted International doesnt attend and I get his aid. :stuck_out_tongue:
worth a try I guess!
