Financial Aid for Internationals?

Hello CCers. I'm an international who is about to apply for college(incoming senior). I'm just curious, how is the financial aid of UofM for internationals? I will really need aid. How much aid is usually given? Btw, I plan to apply to Ross as my goal is to work in Finance. How is the recruiting in Ross? Thanks guys

anyone please?

I am fairly confident that most public U.S. universities (UofM included) do not offer financial aid to international students.

UMich will not offer you need-based scholarship. I’ve received scholarships for the past three years but they’ve been merit-based awarded by the faculty of my major. And you get taxed before you receive your scholarship.

You need to have really high stats to be able to get a merit based award from Ross. Otherwise you should look into need blind schools like Harvard,Yale,Princeton,MIT,Dartmouth,Amherst. Or apply to a few lower ranked schools where you will be a really strong applicant and will hopefully get a scholarship.

Recruiting at Ross for international students is a bit more difficult for American students, for various reasons. One, is the language barrier during interviews. Secondly, international students are significantly limited to certain job postings on Impact (US residents only). However, it’s not to say that it can’t be done. I know a some international students that have found jobs in the US, it just seems like there are much more that are returning to their former countries to work.
