I’m wondering how Cornell doles out FA for those who live off-campus. Do they just give you a check for the amount equivalent to the full cost of room and board? I’ve been accepted to another college whose ‘room’ cost is close to $9,000 to live in a double on campus, but they are only giving me $4,500 towards off-campus housing. Does Cornell do the same thing, or do they just give you the full-amount?
No, Cornell doesn’t reduce FA if you live off campus. Most of the time, living off campus is cheaper and if your FA exceeds your fees, you can get the excess amount otherwise it would used to cover other fees.
