Okay I'm applying to Brown ED. Silly me I didn't know that part of the financial aid form was due by Nov.1.... so.... well I let that one go. But I had indicated that I would be applying for Fin.Aid. Should I uncheck that now that I stupidly missed the deadline? (I heard indicating that I would kinda lowers my chance......?)

ALSO, can I get financial aid after I enroll? Say like during my sophomore year I can apply for financial aid?

Do you have $60,000 to pay for your first year?

They may bump your application to RD or just ask you to get your CSS in ASAP. So, you should work on that, submit it as quickly as you can and then wait to hear from them.

Call Brown and ask them what to do. As I see it, two choices…they will take that CSS Profile late, or they will roll your application over to regular decision.

This is ON the Brown financial aid website. Moving your application to regular decision sounds like it will give you the time to complete your financial aid application with that DEADLINE timeframe.

Re: getting institutional aid from Brown in subsequent years…from their website (which I suggest you read thoroughly), it sounds like you can apply for need based aid in subsequent years if needed.

It does NOT sound like you can apply late for this year.

The biggest issue YOU have if you keep this as an ED application is that you will not have a financial aid award by the time the ED decisions come out (assuming they say it’s ok to submit your Profile and other supporting documents…read carefully…late).

Do you HAVE the $60,000 it will cost you to attend Brown available to you for this year?

I will have to talk to my parents of course. I know that I owe them with my life with this but If they could wait for me to get fin.aid. sophomore year… I will have to work my butt off too… but the “best” thing that could happen to me right now is get deferred from brown…
