Hey CC, I'm a spring admit. I haven't started school yet, but I've got problems already, so is help much appreciated.

I had CalGrant B up until a few weeks ago, where it was switched to CalGrant A. My financial aid package included work study + loans, along with grants and scholarships. But Calgrant A pays more this semester (it is my freshman year), so I figured I would be able to minimize the amount of loans or work study I had to take out. But as I checked on my award summary on bearfacts, they actually lowered my Berkeley UG Scholarship to allow CalGrant A to fit in, not changing anything about the loans.

Is it possible to minimize workstudy/loans and maximize grants/aid in this situation? Or am I already capped off at the maximum amount of aid they can give me?

Again, help is much appreciated. Thanks
