Financial Aid & Housing

I think I read somewhere that the living expenses are calculated based on living in a double, so if you got something cheaper than a double does your financial aid get reduced?

I’m assuming you’re living in a triple. The thing is it’s not that much cheaper. Plus I think the living expenses might be an average between the double and triple.

Doubles & triples in units are less than the allocated amount - mostly b/c Foothill/CKC are more expensive. Financial aid gets applied first to tuition and then to housing. If you have a lot of financial aid that you accepted, you will receive the additional money that your housing doesn’t cover. If you’re financial aid doesn’t cover all tuition & housing, you only get however much your financial aid gives you and you’ll have to cover the rest of the costs yourself.

I get it now, thank you!
