financial aid issue

so sorry if this has already been asked but i llooked back and didn't see anything so i'm going to go ahead and ask.

i received my financial aid package a while back, around the time that i got accepted into Emory but a couple of days ago i got a mail saying

this letter is in response to your application for financial aid for 2008-2009.... we need additional information before your award can be finalized.

We will begin our review of your aplication once all required documents are received.

Should i just ignore this mail or what? Because i have already received my financial aid package both online and by mail.

this is just my speculation....the one that you received is just a "heads up" financial aid...it is most likely what you will get.....
to be finalized...i believe that you have to commit to Emory..and turn in the form...then, at the summer...that is when they will finalized your financial aid....the one that you recieved are not necessarily what you will get..but it will be pretty close to it..

If you appeal would it make a difference?

i was confused about the same thing. i got my award and then came a letter that said things about sending more stuff in before award can be finalized. when we went down for the open house we talked with the financial aid ppl and basically it's just a very very very badly worded letter but if you read all the way down it's actually just telling you that you still have to accept your award. so whatever you financial award letter said you got is what you have.

so i dont have to send in anyhting more right?

to get it finalized, i just have to accept it?

correct, you're all set with everything

sweet.

thanks !!

your welcome
