I got 38500 altogether.

Was WPI so generous to you??

Wow, I didn't get even half of yours. But, I'm international.

im still waiting...i hope i get a free ride...=P

No, I got considerably less than that. You got a full ride.

How is it a full ride? Isn't full tuition like ~53k w/ campus housing?

he/she said 38,500 altogether which means 9625 per year.

Oh! i see...

Sorry to confuse you, I got 38500 just for my freshman year.

rinaldoizzo.. if you don't mind, can you break that down for us? How much is merit, how much is grant, how much is loan, work study, etc

ugh, this website has been having more server problems lately.. now it won't let me edit above because it has been more than 20 minutes.. anyway, what I was going to say is that you are a Val. of your class, right? So, $17k right there... was the rest all grants or is some of your 38.5 loans? They must want you really bad! CONGRATS! Good job!
I managed to squeeze out $15000/yr in merit, and then another $2,000 in grant, but the rest is all loans. I hope RPI either gives me a ton more or nothing, it will make my decision a lot easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEGA congrats Rinaldo -that is HUGE
What were your stats if I may ask?

I'd consider that a full ride, because tuition is something like $38,000. Yes, housing costs money. But after freshman year you'll be able to live off campus or become an RA and reduce housing costs enormously (note that you don't have to live off campus, it's just cheaper).

Ahhh, that is pretty much a free ride with the ~10k at first year and a few thousand the rest of years...forgot about that. Thanks al.

So, then it's 38,531 in aid, but if I am not mistaken, about $29k of that doesn't have to be paid back (grants/scholarships), you have to work for $1.2k, and the stafford and perkins (loans) will eventually need to be paid back? So, in ball park figures, they are giving you $30,000 and you sooner or later will have to pay the other $20,000. Not bad!

Another thing to consider is that realistically you can work for 2k or so every year, and you can apply to be an RA (they make about 9k a year).
