I had the admission counsellors at school scan it in, so I don’t really know where they sent it.
If you submitted your FAFSA late March, is it possible to be still considered for Top 10% scholarship, Pell Grant, Presidential Grant, and departmental (in my case Natural Science) scholarships?
March 15th is the priority deadline
@Fuffy24 So I won’t get the scholarships?
I honestly don’t know, but I think you’re chances are lower, as its priority based for the grants I believe. Anybody feel free to correct me.
Honestly I’d guess that since they have a PRIORITY deadline, anything apply before that date would get equal consideration
My son’s portal also says he has gotten aid, but there is nothing listed under CASH. Is there any sense if this is system wide or if some people have gotten their CASH update, but not others. We’re BHP and Plan 2.
This is the last notifications we’re waiting on, so it is harder than normal to wait.
I think right now, as of people who submitted their FAFSA before the priority deadline, it’s either the status you have currently, or the one that says under review by a financial counselor like mine. I would think that they’d release it monday…but I’ve been wrong a lot before. Just wish they were as fast as A&M.
Still now word for anyone? We won’t qualify for non-merit financial aid, but S’s portal says that he has been awarded “aid,” which must be some kind of scholarship. Still nothing on CASH, though.
We are OOS, by the way. ^^^
Aid is posted now for us
Award Awarded Amount
Federal Pell Grant* 2,813.00
TEXAS Grant 2,500.00
Federal Direct Subsidized Loan* 1,750.00
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan* 1,000.00
Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergrad Students* 2,593.00
Award Total $ 10,656.00
Same for the other semester. I also have a PAS scholarship of $5000 a year. I’m wondering if this is it, like the final package. Is there anyone willing to post their current aid notification?
My family EFC is 150 by the way and I am in state.
We were only offered loans.
Mines still says it’s under review…so aggravated
We were offered a nice amount in a grant and several loans. We do not want the loans at this time. When I go to the screen where you accept, decline, or reduce, it says a minimum amount for the loans. Does this mean we are required to accept a minimal loan???
I received a total of $15,775/yr just from grants/scholarships. I’m really pleased!
I will be declining the loan offers.
How do you decline the loan offers - just set them to $0?
@rach98n When you activate your Financial Award Notification, you will have the option to reduce the loan award.
@kiriiii - yes, I see that option. It shows a minimum amount…is that just the minimum amount if you want a loan? So to decline, just set them all to $0?
I submitted my fafsa on jan 1st, but was selected for verification and A&M asked for my stuff, and they adjusted it, which caused UT to set a BAR on my aid, and out on hold until further review for a financial counselor. Am I screwed when it comes to grants?
