I did get a PERSONALIZED mail though, while my friend did not. I got in, he did not. So I would say there is a possible correlation between a personalized mail and acceptance. However, there is none with the generic one.
My D got the generic email a while ago – never the personalized one – and she never got a likely letter, but she was accepted yesterday (and that’s all she cared about). I guess after reading the other posts, I’d say the FA email is an encouraging sign, but not a guarantee as @muncom’s friend discovered yesterday.
Mine was generic btw
I love Dartmouth and feel incredibly blessed to have gotten in, however I will be attending Princeton in the fall. Best of luck to future applicants! If you get in, I’m sure you’ll love it!
Just thought I should say that I received three generic financial aid emails throughout March and was accepted. It appears that in most cases such an email indicates that you have not been rejected. Anyways congrats to every one of us for surviving up 'til now.
