Financial Aid notification?

<p>I applied early decision to RPI and got accepted, but I just received an email from RPI asking me to fill out a “College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile.” Apparently they asked for this immediately after I sent in the application, but I didn’t see it.</p>

<p>So I’m going to fill it out as soon as possible, but I have a few questions.</p>

<li><p>How soon after I send this in will I be notified of my financial aid package? Will I have to wait until after I send in the FAFSA as well?</p></li>
<li><p>For those of you who did fill it in already, did you receive your financial aid package along with your acceptance letter (I received the financial aid sheet, but of course the only thing on there was the 15k from the medal)?</p></li>
<li><p>RPI is the only school I’ve applied to so far, and since I applied early decision the only way I wouldn’t be obligated to go there is if they didn’t give enough money to meet my need. Should I apply to other colleges now in case that happens, or can I just wait and see if RPI is gonna give me enough (which, I assume, will be before Feb. 1st, the deadline for most other colleges)? Is there any chance I’d get less aid from other schools for applying later?</p></li>

<p>Applying to other colleges I believe is restricted according to what you signed when you applied, I don't know how long they would take to evaluate your CSS profile once you do fill it out, but I doubt it'll go to February 1st.
I would figure out what I wanted to fill out on all of the other colleges I wanted to apply to, write it down somewhere and have it ready to go if RPI doesn't come through.</p>

<p>yepp. I filled it out during november so I recieved an aid notification with the awards. I suggest you write it now (ASAP) to recieve some great benefits~</p>

<p>One more question for anybody who already received their financial aid decision: did you send in the "signed copy of their 2007 U.S income tax return" and "a copy of all 2007 W-2 forms" beforehand? Because my parents haven't done that stuff yet, so they can't send it in. Will I be able to receive the decision before they do or will I need to wait even longer now (I finished the CSS profile)?</p>
