Financial Aid package - when can i expect to see it?

Our FA award has remained pretty similar from year to year. Like I said, my son’s summer earnings contribution went up some, but his workstudy remained the same at $1800. Based on your award, though, my assumption is that it will go up to $2000 for the 2010-11 year. (We haven’t seen next year’s FA yet. Continuing students get that information later than incoming freshmen.)

I don’t think your parents have to be concerned about any big changes unless their income and assets were to change. All the aid at Amherst is need-based, so if the need remains the same, so should the FA award.

Congratulations on your acceptance to Amherst. You will love it there.

I’m hoping for a full ride…just hope they do convert the figures I gave them on the css profile to dollars, because if they don’t they’ll think I’m one rich SOB!

Is anyone else completely freaking out?
I didn’t know Amherst had a seperate portal for financial aid until just now. I checked it and am really worried since it tells me that I am missing a bunch of documents that I wasn’t informed I had to submit. ACData and My Amherst didn’t have any notices from the financial aid office and I didn’t get any E-mails or letters about it either. I just sent them a message and am calling them first thing tomorrow morning. Amherst is my first choice by far and not getting to go because of this confusion would kill me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Until about last week, I didn’t know about the financial aid portal either but all of the documents listed are either a part of IDOC or something you had to send in anyway. I thought you had to submit the tax forms and stuff through IDOC?

Yes, spiritualwith, it should be the IDOC documents which CollegeBoard would have informed you of after submitting the CSS Profile. Nicier, didn’t you get the information about submitting tax documents to IDOC when you filed your CSS Profile? Anyway, call them, they are very helpful.

No aid decisions for me yet. Hopefully they will be up tomorrow!

Now I’m angry…

Still nothing for me…I need this info to decide where I’m going :expressionless: Oh well, maybe by the end of today? I’d call but I don’t want to bug them.

nothing yet :frowning: I really do need to know this information ASAP!

My actual award was up today, but my link has been up for a while.

I’m sure the rest will be up soon for everyone!

@xxCiaraxMist: was your award up yesterday or is it a new thing as of today?

I’m just asking to see if they will continue updating financial packages today or if they are going to wait a while so they can calculate and then update in mass numbers at a later date.

I have emailed them yet again but don’t expect a response until tomorrow or even later. I don’t want to be annoying but this is just frustrating!

relax! you have another month to decide where you’re going to matriculate!

I got my aid! Amherst was really generous. They gave me about 50k which includes $1800 work study. This is a huge relief. :)

@SpiritualWitch

Sorry, I didn’t see your reply until just now. The link has been up for weeks, but whenever I clicked on it, there was no award showing up, including the day before yesterday. Finally, yesterday I checked the link and there was my award.

No aid yet either. Anyone else in this boat? :)

^me!!!

@everyone who doesn’t have aid yet: the people replied to my email and said the aid would be up today! God I hope they are right!

I emailed the FA Office and they replied, “Your award should already be posted online.”, but I have no “Award” tab. :/

And still no financial aid package! I emailed yet again and no response as of yet. I am attending the Admitted student weekend thing and I really do hope they manage to have my FA package up by then!
