When do continuing students usually receive their financial aid packages? I am a rising sophomore and have yet to receive mine.

Thanks!

The financial aid website says “June - August” which is not very helpful.

It depends on when your applications was complete. We thought we had everything in by April 27th, but we did not have the IRS transcript complete. We did not need that piece when applying the previous year. We fixed that about a month ago but still no decision. I called and they said check in after the 4 th of July. You may want to make sure your application is complete and that nothing is in the to do list. We had some issues with it showing them still needing a copy of D’s tax return even though we had sent the letter and w-2s showing she did not earn enough to pay taxes. So, they had to manually remove that from the to do list and begin processing her application.

I had the same experience. If you haven’t heard from financial aid, give them a call to see what the story is.

My S got his package today. We were late with the CSS Profile, USPS’s fault, but still, they got it several weeks after the deadline.

Will they also snail mail a letter like they did for incoming freshmen? My DS says that the info online in his student center specifies a family contribution but doesn’t show the breakdown into student and parents.

bump – anyone know where to find the breakdown of the family contribution into student and parent contribution? I know I can find the summer savings expectation for students at the Cornell website, but my student also had some income that I think is adding to his contribution for the coming year. My S said he did not see that breakdown on his student center where his financial aid award is listed.

We haven’t gotten ours for this year yet, but it was there last year. Click on the EFC number in the financial aid summary and it breaks it down.

Thanks. I wrote to the office of financial aid and they told me that as well (in addition to giving us our breakdown).
