Can anyone tell me how much northeastern actually meets need. I know they say it’s a full need school, i’m just wondering how the packages look? My parents are self employed so the net price calc isn’t much help but i’d really like to know if they give good aid for middle income families. Thanks!
It’s more or less unpredictable. Many are left with a huge gap, and some are given perfectly accurate packages. Especially with cases not covered by the NPC, the only way to really know is to apply. If I had to guess based on past years acceptance threads, I would say they accurately (from the student perspective) meet full need about 25-50% of the time. Northeastern is not known for generous FA but it’s not NYU stingy either.
At all colleges that meet full need it is the college’s determination of need, not what you feel you need. The package will include federal loans.
As an example, my EFC was ~28k and the final COA was ~40k although we had a successful fin aid appeal that brought that COA for this year down to ~30k. About ~25k of the financial aid was grants.
