Financial aid packages???

I love my aid package to death. It'll be cheaper for me to go to Cornell than my 2nd choice state school. yay!

Cornell offers scholarships? really? o well, I def. did not receive any. But after I really thought about it, Cornell's reputation, altho really expensive, is probably worth the money.

So I'm gone in Aug. and I just turned in my housing application. See you guys there! And thank you for responding to my post and sharing your packages.

congrats to those of you who are happy with it, and much luck to the others like myself who wish Cornell had offered more.

mmmm. not so happy. I, personally, do not want to be so in debt when I graduate. I scheduled a FA meeting for next week.

Same thoughts on the debt. Is there a min. amount of self-help that Cornell applies to all applicants? After the EFC is calculated, which of course, none of us like, how do they determine the need part of the package? Seems like the EFC covers income, assessts, home equity ....after that how come some get more grants and less loans?

bluejay, yeah it does unfortunately.

Also, if your EFC is like 1,000 for the FAFSA, Cornell will double it to 2,000 or more, depending on what you wrote on the CSS Profile.

We all know cornell is not the best in terms of financial aid package for low-income applicants....

I liked my package...

apparently they just sent out my package TODAY o_O
