keep in mind that assets are also taken into consideration along with income. unless those assets are in retirement accounts. Even equity in a house is considered if it is over a certain threshold. I believe the assets have to total over $100,000 to begin making a difference though.

anyone ED get their fin aid packages yet or their net ids?

Civo, you should have gotten the financial aid package wayyyyy back in December. You won’t get anything else back from them until FAFSAs come through in May and then they’ll finalize your stuff. As for netids, no, i haven’t and i’m ****ed. where is it???

i got a ***** load of money. super duper generous… i love cornell lol but my parents are making me pay it by myself because its so little… time to work work work!

i thought the thing in december was just an estimate, not the actual thing

and they said net ids today, so …

The package in december for ED was just an estimate and the package that applicants are getting now is also just an estimate. Final award letters will come out in May sometime.

Yeah, nothing is official until you turn in the FAFSA and 09 tax returns, but if your PROFILE was a good representation of what’s on your 09 forms, then it should be pretty accurate. BTW, WHERE ARE THOSE NETIDs???

bumpppp.

I still didn’t get my finaid offer, I was an RD acceptance to HumEc…

^call financial aid and ask. That is the only way you are going to know if there is a problem.

I was shocked by my package, they gave me wayyy less then i expected. The package is only 11,000, which is way to little. They said my family contribution is 39,000, which doesnt make sense since fafsa said it was 23,000. My parents make a good amount of money, but the package really isnt good enough. Will I be able to call and bargain with them or are they just gonna tell me to fill out the appeal. This is really upsetting.

^What did cornell’s online estimator say your EFC was?
