Why does it say we’re on “WAITLIST” on the letter

This letter displays UNOFFICIAL financial aid eligibility.
You are currently on an admissions waitlist. This letter displays unofficial financial aid eligibility pending final admission to the University of California, Santa Barbara and verification of your FAFSA data. Official Financial Aid eligibility will be determined after May 1 for students who have submitted their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Santa Barbara. We may request documentation to verify the information supplied on your FAFSA. Awards are contingent upon continued funding from federal, state, and institutional sources, and upon information provided on the FAFSA. Awards are subject to change and may be reduced if funding is insufficient or discontinued, or if the verification information provided is different from your most recent FAFSA. Tax transcripts that reflect business and investment losses may reduce eligibility for UCSB aid. Additionally, your eligibility may be reduced if you receive other UCSB awards or outside agency scholarship awards.

I’m supposed to receive $23810 in grants, $2000 work study, and $7300 loans.

are you all at least getting the “UCSB New Freshman Grant”?
“This scholarship is provided by the University of California and is awarded to new freshmen who applied by the March 2 FAFSA priority filing deadline and who have significant financial need. Note that this scholarship is available to new freshman only.”
