I have a bit of a situation here.

When I applied to American, I turned in the fafsa. The problem is that I was out of town when they anounced the deadline extension for the addition AU form. My parents sent in an email, but they sent it to the wrong one. So my question is, “On a scale of one to ten, how screwed am I?”

P.S.- I got in (YAY)

hi oberweis~ gee, your name seems very familiar. anyway, they are sticklers for their form along with the FAFSA. are you saying AU never got that additional form? it's not good news, but years ago(maybe they've changed) at our AU info session, the girl actually used your problem as an example to avoid, as the kid in question was unable to get aid...maybe it's different now???

I turned in my FAFSA and IFAA (Institutional application for American) on the February 15th deadline. However, I knew that the information wasn't correct, so my father contacted their financial aid office and asked what to do. They said turn in the applications on the due date and correct them later. I have corrected my FAFSA online, but the IFAA was different. You can't correct it outline. Instead, they told me to do another copy by hand and fax it to them. This has been done, and I am waiting for need-based aid. However, I only got this done a few days ago, so I think there's time. I know this is not the same as your situations, but it's the best I can do. My advice: call the financial aid department and see what they say.
