Never knew they required this, my dad took care of all the fin. aid things for all the schools.and he freekin forgot this? ARE YOU KIDDING me? Is this required? and it must be why it says the have NO fin. aid documents even though i handed in FAFSA on Feb 1st.

I’m so damn confused!

It said MUST be in by 2/15… i didnt even know this existed… will this in any way affect m decission!!! Do you think this is why i havent heard from them yet?

I also double-checked each of my D's school's for any financial aid documents other than FAFSA that needed to be sent in and never found their form. I emailed them after we found she wasn't getting much $ and they emailed back the form...said it was past the deadline. I don't think it affects the decision, since we just got it yesterday.

There's a link to the form on the portal that your students should have established. But even submitting the form doesn't guarantee any aid. We submitted ours in Jan and got no merit $$.

for what it's worth, i remember being at one of AU's info sessions a few years back, and the girl specifically told a story of an applicant that got all messed up because he/she never sent in their own fin. aid form, and there was nothing they could do...so i guess they take that form very seriously.

We were clearly told about that form when we visited campus in the summer; however, AU is known for not giving good finaid except merit money to those who get into honors. Luckily, my daughter got alot, but got no grant money at all despite all forms being in early and the FAFSA with an EFC in the mid-teens.

Don't blame your father - you're as guilty as he is - actually more guilty. If you go to any college website, they all specifically state what financial aid documents are required and when they must be rec'd. You can plead ignorance, but I wouldn't blame them from not giving you any aid if it was dependent on what needed to be submitted timely. Better luck next year!
