Financial Aid Question at Cornell

Money is a big factor for me in college decisions, and the most I can pay is maybe $5000 on my own in the form of loans. And my estimated family contribution is 1000-3000.

Is it worth it to apply ED to Cornell? I'm worried that if I somehow get accepted, will they give me enough money to fulfill my need (basically all of the cost)?

The statistic on CollegeBoard.com is that they give 100% need on average. Is this true?

I'd be in a deep hole if I had to go to Cornell and didn't have the money.

Maybe you should apply RD so you aren't bound to a contractual agreement to attend

The thing is, my stats aren't spectacular, so if I can apply ED without worrying about money, I'd be glad for the greater chance of getting in.

well, Cornell says they meet your full need, but the risk you run is getting too much money in loans and not enough in grants

they are willing to break the ED contract if you really can't afford it.

They give you 100% of your demonstrated need.

Thanks for your help, guys.
