financial aid question, uw seattle

this morning, my financial aid has been updated from 2010-11 to 2011-12.

there was no student id number but 00000000. and this message "Status of your 2011-2012 Application At this time, you have no awards for this aid year."

does that mean, i got rejected? did anyone else who is applied to uw seattle got this status update?

by the way, i applied as a transfer student

U applied for Fall 2011?

yes, fall 2011

I’ve had that same status since I signed up for my netid. I don’t expect that I’ve been rejected since day 1, so don’t wouldn’t worry just yet.

Dont worry, you are not rejected.
You will know in June.

it is the only institution that i applied for, and i am very worried. i heard that it is hard to get into uw as a transfer student.

hopefully, my essay (a personal experience that i faced) will be good enough to guarantee me a spot

Well, i think it’s easier to transfer because UW has an agreement that at least 30% of transfer students will be from any Washington CC.
nana17, what’s ur stats??

finished A.A degree in general studies.
GPA is 3.77.
PTK member.
i don’t have any Sat or Act ( i am new in the USA).

intended major- near eastern languages and civilization-

i learned Arabic, Hebrew, and a little Farsi.

I got an email that said Congratulations, you have received a financial award!! And I got super excited until I logged on an realized they were offering me a loan…since when is a loan an award?! Lame…

^ omg thats horrible…haha. Has anyone financial aid status on myuw change at all this past week?

I just got an e-mail saying that my financial aid package is ready to look at. I am more pleased with it than the packages I got from gonzaga and seattle university (as those left me with gaps even with loans, UW didn’t). Out of the money given to me, about 55-65% of it was grant and the rest was in loans…

congrats! @ilikeuw. 55-65%? That is not bad at all, can you explain to us how you were granted a good percentage? Like income wise? Because on my fafsa i listed my parents’ income this year at around ~$64,500 and package to see how my thing will adds up. Thanks

nana17, u r fine!!!

mandymandy,

how do u know that i am fine? whats your stats?

I am currently a UW student

I logged in today and saw the same “At this time, you have no awards for this aid year.” status. Except mine was sitll for 2010 - 2011. When I clicked the drop down bar to go to 2011-2012, I got that message again except with another one under it that talks about Summer Quarter. :expressionless: I THOUGHT I GOT REJECTED TOO
