Financial Aid Question

If for any reason Fordham revoked financial aid would/how would the applicant be notified?

I haven’t heard of any instances where Fordham has revoked financial aid within one academic year. Unless you are on merit scholarship and your GPA drops below the minimum requirement, I think your financial aid is guaranteed. But maybe there are other instances where Fordham reserves the right to revoke financial aid. In this case, the school would probably send a letter (and maybe an email too) and make the adjustments on your myfordham portal. But I’m not sure if this ever really happens. Did you have a specific situation in mind?

However, if your financial situation changes from one academic year to the next, Fordham may adjust your package, either up or down (unless you have an award like a merit scholarship that is guaranteed for four years). In my experience, Fordham sends out a letter outlining the new award and then updates the myfordham portal.

I didn’t have anything specific in mind, I just logged onto the site for the first time today and saw that I still owed 59k even though I was awarded 30+ in gift aid per year and it made me really nervous. Have they just not updated the site yet it do I have a serious problem?

You can always call Fordham to confirm but they seem to update my.fordham for the aid very late in the process. We were concerned the first time around as well but now I guess we’re just used to it.

okay thanks, i thought/hoped that’s what it was
