Financial Aid Question

Do you know if RPI usually gives medal winners merit money beyond the medal award? I know this may be a silly question because the medal already guarantees applicants 60,000 which seems like a good chunk of change.

I hope they do

Yes, in addition to the Medal award he was given a Leadership scholarship(no application necessary) and a Legacy scholarship because my wife is an alum.

Originaloog: Do you know whether you need to file for financial aid to be considered for the Leadership Scholarship? I had looked on the website but couldn't find any information. Thanks

I don't think you need to file for it...my friend got one last year for being an eagle scout. I think it basically means a free laptop

No, there is no application for the Leadership scholarship and it doesnt seem to be in any of the finaid lit either. When my sons finaid package and included the$4000/yr scholarship it came as a total surprise. It did not give any indication why he was awarded it either.

I didn't get the Leadership Merit originally, but I wrote a letter expressing interest in going to RPI and requested they consider me for it, and they gave me $10k/year!

My first time to CC. Any one know if Legacy scholarship is applicable, if a parent graduated from a Satellite school: Child wants to go to RPI but a parent is an alum of RPI branch at Hartford Graduate Center, Hartford, CT?
