Cost of attendance on campus= about 31k

EFC = about 15k

Freshman year: will live on campus. receiving a 7k need-based grant.

Sophmore year and Junior year: will live at home, so because the estimated cost of attendance minus room and board is about 16k does this mean I will receive about 1k in grants?

Senior year: will live off campus. What I’m wondering is if I live off campus how much financial aid will I receive. I estimated that cost of attendance will cost about 24k living off campus (versus 31k on campus), so how much less will I receive than freshman year, if any? Could I perhaps assume that it would be the same ratio of grants to the cost of attendance (7/31 x 22 = about 5k)?

I’m assuming filed a FAFSA?
As a resident, you should be eligible; if not, then the MCS should cover you.

Yes I did file FAFSA. I am not eligible for Calgrant, but I am eligible for MCS. Do you know when I will be notified if I have received MCS?

After you have submitted your FAFSA or CADAA establish a www.webgrants4students.org account to monitor your state financial aid.
Students whose families have income and assets up to $165,000 per year may be eligible for a scholarship of no less than 10 percent and no more than 40% of the mandatory system-wide tuition and fees at the University of California and the California State University.
MCS scholarships are not set amounts and may vary by student and institution. The award is amount is determined after you are awarded any federal, state, and institutional need-based grants for which you are eligible. The final award amount will be based on the number of students eligible for the MCS statewide and the funding allocated by the State Budget.
To get assistance completing the FAFSA or CADAA, attend a Cash for College workshop in your community beginning on October 1st but before the March 2nd application deadline. If you are selected to receive a MCS, you will be notified by the California Student Aid Commission.

@“aunt bea” yes I did make the account but it says there is no data for the MCS for the 2018-19 year. I will call them tomorrow thanks for the suggestion
