Financial Aid question

Need to get a "general idea" of how much financial aid to expect based on others who received offers or are currently attending.

Gender: Female
Major: Engineering
Location: Arizona
Sports: Division III team member
Community service: Active
ACT composite: 32
High School Grade Average: 3.5

most females get the Emily Roebling Scholarship (about 80-90) and you might also get a leadership scholarship.....finacial aid, i'm not sure about that

Thanks, Princess...

When you say "about 80-90"...do you mean that 80-90 % of the applicants get the Emily Roebling Scholarship?...or do you mean that Emily Roebling Scholarship covers 80-90% of your tuition?

Can someone tell me how much money is provided via the Emily Roebling Scholarship?

Thanks

I think it's at least $30,000 spread over 4 years, so figure 10k a year roughly. Yeah, they give out pretty good aid at RPI (not sure if it's 80-90 %, but?). I heard roughly half get aid equivalent to the RPI Medal, which is 15k a year. I'm a freshman here, and got the RPI medal, and a free laptop package: I have no idea why, but I am very pleased.

Roebling = $14k per year for 4 years, 5 if in architecture. Don't know if the amount varies or is standard for all recipients.

Isn't it 7k per year? I guess it varies? (My D says this, her sn is everyprincess on CC)

We just got our scholarship letter in the mail. Ours said $15K/yr. Okay, I guess that's good for a start but it less than we need. That still means we'd need to cover $30K/yr. That's more than we can afford. We're not poor but we're not rich...plus I have other kids and I'd like to retire before I'm 80.

I'm looking at a good engineering school in our state and the price tag is $18k/yr. If RPI can sweeten the deal we'll consider it...if not, c'est la vie.
